We aim to introduce children:
  • To the basic skills of observing, comparing and classifying, estimating and testing;
  • To the ‘key scientific notions’ of living things and their processes, the interdependence of living and non-living things and to the concepts of cause and effect, time, energy and change.
We encourage children, through our science teaching, to begin to develop positive attitudes of curiosity, co-operation and responsibility. Science lessons provide an opportunity to explore ideas and use natural materials creatively.
