P.E

Please ensure that your child is dressed in appropriate clothing for P.E lessons on a Thursday.

Homework

Each Tuesday the children will be given an English and Maths homework task. This will be related to something that they have learnt in class that day or in the previous weeks. Children will be expected to bring their homework in the following Monday. The homework will always be written on Google Classroom. If you have any problems with logging on, please come and see your child's class teacher.

Reading
Please continue to encourage your child to read aloud to you at home. It is also important that children are read to as this can help with internalising language. We have given each child a reading record where they should keep track of the books they are reading and how often.

If your child reads 4 times a week then will get their name in the reading hat and will have the chance to win a £5 book voucher in our Friday assembly. For ideas and inspiration for books to read please click here. For more recent new releases and titles visit love reading 4 kids where you can download extracts of books.

Spellings
We test spellings every Friday in the form of dictation. Please make sure children know the meaning of all the words and how to use them in a sentence. Dictating sentences using the week’s spellings and incorporating others from previous lists can be a useful way of keeping certain letter patterns or particularly tricky words uppermost in their minds. For ideas on how to make learning spellings fun, click here.
